Description
Drum Separator SBT for Abrasive Recovery
Drum separator SBT is an industrial device designed for the automatic cleaning of abrasive media from dust, slag, and other contaminants. The system enables effective abrasive recovery by separating particles based on their mass and size, allowing for material reuse without losing surface treatment quality.
The device was developed specifically to operate in shot blasting chambers and abrasive blasting systems. The drum separator increases abrasive service life, enhances cleaning process efficiency, and reduces operational costs.
Application of the Drum Separator SBT
The SBT model is widely used across various industrial sectors:
- production of steel structures,
- railway industry,
- defense sector,
- agricultural machinery,
- metal processing plants,
- shot blasting lines and industrial chambers.
How Does a Drum Separator Work?
Used abrasive material, along with dust and contaminants, enters the rotating drum of the separator. The internal filtration system separates the main reusable media from larger waste particles and dust fractions.
This screening process allows for effective material separation based on the size and weight of the grains. The cleaned abrasive is directed to a storage hopper, while waste and dust are discharged into a separate container.
The drum separator also utilizes a diluted airflow regulated by a special flow valve. Thanks to this mechanism, light contaminants are efficiently separated from the material intended for further industrial use.
Key Advantages of the SBT Drum Separator
- automatic abrasive recovery and conditioning,
- extension of abrasive material service life,
- stable and consistent surface treatment quality,
- fully automatic system operation,
- easy integration with shot blasting chambers,
- reduction of industrial production waste,
- heavy-duty, solid industrial construction,
- low noise level during operation.
Optional Equipment for the Separator
The drum separator can be equipped with an additional storage hopper for keeping the recycled abrasive. The hopper is installed directly under the separator, above the blasting machine, creating a closed-loop abrasive workflow system.
The unit can also be retrofitted with a level sensor that enables automatic shut-off of the recovery system once the maximum material level in the hopper is reached.
